No Escape are a chain of Escape Room attractions situated in a number of central London locations, and when the guys acquired their new premises in Victoria they came to us to start thinking about their new hell themed rooms due to be built in the basement and to look at what could be done with the existing bar at ground level.
Although the escape rooms will be heavily themed around traditional visions of Hell, the brief for the bar was to create a more subtle purgatory theme to create a trendy cocktail bar.
We were asked to create a unique space with no obvious religious or man made icons, more an abstract version of heaven and hell. For the lower level of the build we incorporated reds and fiery features in to the flooring and furniture, moving to more heavenly blues towards the top and ceiling. The main feature wall shows foliage which is more withered and scorched at the bottom, rising up to be much more luscious and colourful.
This was a really interesting project, and one of the quickest turn arounds to date. Once the initial concept illustrations were created we created a full 3D design, manufactured props in our workshop, to install and bar opening within the space of 5 weeks.
